INFORMATION ABOUT Brandon Goldberg AND about Victor Machin

 

Brandon Goldberg,,,eleven years old, began to play piano by ear when he was three years old.  He currently studies both classical and jazz piano and loves to perform and compose his own music.

Brandon has performed at Carnegie Hall, at Jazz at Lincoln Center with Monty Alexander and at the Apollo Theatre as part of the Jazz Foundation of America’s A Great Night in Harlem. Recently, Brandon played at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York and has appeared on NBC’s Little Big Shots, the Steve Harvey Show and the Harry Connick Jr. Show.

Brandon also performed at TEDxBocaRaton, TEDxYouth@Miami, the Aventura Young Stars Showcase, and The Miami Beach Jazz Festival,

Brandon has been featured as a soloist with the South Florida Youth Symphony and the Sugar Pops Symphonic Orchestra, and played with the Honors Jazz Orchestra at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music Young Musicians Camp as well as the Superintendent’s Honors Orchestra.

Brandon won first place for Original Composition in 2015 and 2013, Piano Solo Performance in 2014 and Duet Performance in 2013 at the Miami Music Teachers’ Association Recital.  He was the youngest recipient of the 2015 and 2013 Miami Music Club Scholarship.

Through his love for music, Brandon has helped raise funds and awareness for various charitable organizations including Israel Bonds, Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer, City of Hope, and Broward Children’s Center. Brandon hopes his music can help and inspire others.

Brandon currently studies classical piano with Paul Posnak and likes to listen to his favorite artists including Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.

 

Victor Machin, composer and musician, was born and raised in Miami,  

Florida. He is a senior with a jazz piano and composition major at Miami

Arts Charter High School. This is where his talents were first cultivated,

through the teachings of Aleksander Djurich and Alfredo de la Rosa. Victor

currently trains under the mentorship of world – renowned professor Paul

Posnak.   He has also worked with a variety of prominent musicians and

teachers such as Ira Sullivan and Brian Murphy.  His Jazz quartet won the

Miami Beach Jazz Festival Student Competition in 2015. They were honored

by playing at the New World Center for the Performing Arts at the Miami

Beach Jazz Festival where he played alongside jazz greats such as: Monty

Alexander, Rufus Reid, and Bucky Pizzarelli. The group then traveled to

Latvia, having  been invited to play at the Salkrasti Jazz Festival in

July 2015.

In his own words: “My inclination for music and any creative

endeavor has always been present in my life. My persistence for the craft

of music has taken me many places and opened the doors to many

opportunities.   From as long as I can remember I’ve had a longing to create

and make a difference with my ideas. My intention is always to tell a story or to paint a picture in my listener’s mind, ultimately providing a stimulating and impactful experience for the audience”.
