Classical Lyric Baritone, Matthew Bischoff, is a native South Floridian receiving his Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his Bachelor of Music Dregree from the University of Florida. Mr. Bischoff's performance repertoire at both USM and UF include: Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), Count Danilo (The Merry Widow), Mr. Banks (Mary Poppins), Usher (Trial By Jury), Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus), 2nd Priest (The Magic Flute), and Wolf (Little Red Riding Hood). While at the University of Southern Mississippi, Mr. Bischoff made his professional debut singing the role of the Sacristan in Mississippi Opera's production of Tosca. Mr. Bischoff is excited to make his debut with the Palm Beach Opera this season as a member of the PBO Chorus.
Mr. Bischoff is an avid church musician with over 5 years of experience. He has served as a baritone section leader at the First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg, MS and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Gainesville, FL, as well as a substitute cantor and choir member at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Hattiesburg. Mr. Bischoff is currently a section leader at St. Mark's Episicopal Church in Ft. Lauderdale, but is avaiable as a substitute cantor or choir member on Saturday or Sunday evenings, as well as for weddings and funerals.
Mr. Bischoff is a strong sight-reader and has over 10 years of choral experience, and has performed with many elite ensembles at the professional, university, and community levels.
