Acclaimed European Renaissance duo
is coming to New York!

October 21, 2014

7:30 PM

619 Lexington Ave (near 54th St.)
New York City

Enjoy the eternal beauty of
Renaissance music presented by the duo

"Cantar Alla Viola"!

Nadine Balbeisi, soprano and Fernando Marin, viola da gamba rediscovered a largely forgotton technique of accompanying the voice with the bowed instruments known as "cantar alla viola".  The harmonies of the viola da gamba are sustained by using a special bow technique, which creates a sweet sound that mixes well with the emotive human voice.  The program will include works by Spanish, Italian and English Renaissance masters, Juan Del Encina (1468-1529), Luca Marenzio (1553-1599), Luzzasco Luzzaschi(1545-1607) and William Corkine( "The Second Book of Ayres", 1612).

"Cantar Alla Viola"... a true sound experience"
