St. John in the Wilderness is seeking an energetic, spiritually-driven, and musically passionate individual to fill our half-time Music Minister position. The position is responsible for developing, organizing, planning, and leading all music programs in worship services and special events. Duties include utilizing talents of current adult, youth, inter-generational choirs and incorporating musical talents of the congregation, recruiting talented musicians including vocalists and instrumentalists. The candidate we seek would also have a passion for a variety of music genres and styles and an ability to blend musical styles from the classics to contemporary, gospel, and jazz.
Qualifications desired would include a higher degree in music but not limited to organ performance or conducting. Prior church musician leadership is desired. Candidates with the ability to perform on organ along with piano/keyboard are being considered for this position. Other instrumental performance ability for leading worship, such as guitar would be a plus. Our music minister would have a growing knowledge and profession of the Christian faith, specifically an appreciation for Episcopal liturgy, tradition and theology. A working knowledge of the Episcopal Hymnal, Lift Every Voice and Sing along with Wonder, Love, and Praise would be an asset. St. John in the Wilderness instruments include a (installed 2000) Cassavant Freres 2 manual organ, a Steinway Grand, Stegler Rehearsal Grand along with 3 octaves of Handbells.
The Music Minister Position hours are typically 2 days during the week encompassing Wednesday Rehearsals and Sunday morning Worship services. Throughout the year other Major services and minor services will be required that may or may not fall on a Sunday or Wednesday. Flexibility will be valuable in this position. S/he would also be required to participate in weekly staff meetings and other liturgy planning meetings. The best candidate for this position will also have a desire to be very connected into the community beyond the scope of their position. The compensation package for this position is comparable to AGO standards for a ½ time position. Opportunities for other income are possible through weddings, funerals, and memorial services. The Music Minister functions under the direct supervision of the Rector, at whose pleasure s/he serves. The Music Minister exercises the Rector's canonical authority in the area of music, which is delegated by the Rector, and subject to the Rector's review.

This key position within the Symphony organization manages the Symphony’s marketing activities, ticket sales and merchandising plans, donor and sponsor relations and support, and serves as the "go-to" person for subscribers and patrons. Marketing
- Develop and place display ads, banner ads, e-blast flyers, radio and TV ads to promote concerts and events.
- Develop and submit calendar listings for all online and publication event calendars
- Supervise maintenance of e-Tapestry database, list generation, mail merges and other related correspondence
- Develop, maintain and expand email lists and contact lists
- Develop and Manage Constant Contact e-blasts on a regular basis

The Delray Beach Chorale is currently looking to expand our Young Artists and Apprentice programs.
It is preferred that Young Artisis have a Bachelor's degree or higher in vocal music and/or music education and be prepared to serve as section leaders, soloists, and possibly give voice lessons to our apprentices. Compensation is good and comparable to other performing groups.
Apprentices are high school or undergraduate students who are enthusiastic about singing and eager to participate in a high level choral ensemble. Free vocal lessons are offered to apprentices by our highly qualified and experienced Young Artists. Multiple recital opportunities are available for both young artists and apprentices and all Concerts are sponsored by the Delray Beach Chorale.

for the choir season beginning September 2011Soprano, alto and tenor staff singer positions are currently filled, although excellent sight-singers are encouraged to audition to be on the substitute list
COMMITMENT: 90 minutes on Wednesday evening (7.30 - 9pm); 9ampractice on Sunday morning for 10am service, finishing around 11.15. Extra practices and services (including an increasing number of weddings) are compensated accordingly. The choir's season runs from September to June. During the summer months staff singers have the opportunity to sing solo repertoire at the 10am service, as well as at other occasional services and functions throughout the year.
REPERTOIRE: Miami's Episcopal Cathedral follows the British cathedral music tradition whilst also taking into account Miami's cultural diversity. As the cathedral, it is the aim to set the highest standards of music and liturgy. A Sunday morning service typically features choral psalmody and two anthems. LOCATION: 464 NE 16 Street in downtown Miami, two blocks from the performing arts center, minutes from I-95 and SR-836, and also accessible on public transport. The cathedral's acoustics are the warmest in South Florida.
REQUIREMENTS: Section leaders are sought who are excellent sight singers, can sing with a straight(ish) tone, are able to commit to a regular schedule (including Christmas Eve and Holy Week) and who enjoy singing liturgical music with dedicated volunteers. The bass staff singer's bottom range should extend to at least an F. As part of the audition potential section leaders will be asked to prepare a choral work previously unknown to them.
